National Institute of Technology Patna is the 18th NIT established by the Ministry of H.R.D and an autonomous institute functions directly under MHRD. NIT Patna offers seven disciplines viz. Architecture, Computer Science & Engg., Electrical Engg., Civil Engineering, Electronics & Communication Engg., Information Technology and Mechanical Engg., and well-established departments of Mathematics, physics, Humanities and Social Science. NIT Patna offers the degree in  UG (B.Tech), PG (M.Tech) & Ph .D programmes.
